Way back in January 2014, we made a blog post highlighting the top teacher and trainer videos on Showbie. Now that it’s 2016, we decided to refresh this list to give you the latest videos that explain what Showbie is, how to use it, and give a few tips and helpful surprises along the way.
1. How to Easily Assess Conversational Proficiency
Educator Steve Morgan shares how to assess conversation proficiency in Showbie by listening and grading simultaneously. You can find out more about this tip in our Showbie Shortcut blog post.
2. How Parents Can Use Parent Access
Dana McBride has two videos on this list. The first one does a great job of explaining one of Showbie’s newest features, Parent Access. This video is created for parents specifically, helping them understand how to set up and get started with Parent Access.
3. Using Showbie’s Web App
While many videos focus on Showbie’s iOS app, this video by Fort Richmond Collegiate focuses on using Showbie’s web app. If you haven’t checked out Showbie’s web app and its abilities, this is a great video that gives you an inside look.
4. Get an inside Look at Showbie
In this video by Dana McBride, she introduces all things Showbie, explaining what it is and how it works through short clips and visual explanations. If you want a clear understanding of how to navigate the app, this is a great video to help you.
5. Short Trainer Videos
This isn’t one video, but rather a collection of short and digestible videos that highlight small and specific features. LearnMaker is a tech trainer in the UK, and they have eight Showbie videos in total, each one under about 30 seconds. If you’re looking for quick advice, their videos are great to take a look at.
6. Showbie Presentation with Tips & Advice
This video by Kara Wilkins presents the ins and outs of Showbie, and gives great advice and tips for using it. Great for beginners or anyone wanting a thorough understanding of Showbie in the classroom.
7. Getting Started with Showbie
This video by Shakera Ross gets into how you get started with Showbie, but it also has a fantastic breakdown of the difference between using shared and individual folders at the 9:15 mark.
8. Sharing Google Docs as PDFs in Showbie
Joel Thompson explains how to upload Google Docs as PDFs in Showbie for the purpose of grading and more.
9. Using Showbie with First Graders
Andrew Holden walks viewers through using Showbie in his first grade class, including setting it up and getting lessons started.
10. Showbie in Mandarin
Showbie is currently available in 11 languages, and this is video by Guo Laoshi demonstrates using Showbie in Mandarin! We hope it’s an inspiration for more educators around the world to post their instructional work in Showbie.
