A1 – iPads – the amount of things that can be done with them, mostly around personalising feedback and encouraging creativity. They open up a world of possibilities, more than PC’s (in my opinion). #showbieandtell

A1 – If money is more of an issue, I still love a visualiser to demonstrate and celebrate others work and model pieces. Easy to use with great impact. #ShowbieAndTell

Q2. What are the greatest challenges to implementation? #ShowbieAndTell pic.twitter.com/oMziL2sqbp

A2) Cost – Without financial backing any projects to bring technology into the classroom becomes a major barrier. Additionally, investing in the ‘back of house’ – wifi etc is money that isn’t directly seen but makes an implementation a success or a failure. #ShowbieAndTell

A2- being a digital classroom leader is different from what many teachers are used to. Many feel that they are not in control. When Implementing new technology in schools it’s important to provide help and support to teachers as well as students. #ShowbieAndTell

It is important to understand the pedagogy and the tech – Not just buying something & using it to do what could be done on paper. #SAMR – When people see what can be done it's inspiring! #CPD ( #ShowbieAndTell ) 😉

A2: You have to overcome that initial fear and push yourself into leaping into the unknown realms of technology in the classroom. I have found that setting yourself one new thing to discover and master a week is plentiful and you soon get the hang of it #ShowbieAndTell

Q3. How have new technologies enhanced collaboration and improved children’s reasoning/explanation skills? #ShowbieAndTell pic.twitter.com/EvjrziqCJO

A3 – Showbie has enabled me to share other children’s work using the copy feature, children are then able to suggest improvements and this can be shared with the original student. The same effect can be achieved using Apple TV’s or Airserver. #ShowbieAndTell https://t.co/sGYLlO8GlF

#ShowbieAndTell A3 – Getting children to create 'How NOT-to' videos of their errors are brilliant.

Verbal reasoning has become much stronger. Children are more confident when presenting and having to explain concepts. The children also collaborate effectively and support eachother when using technology

Q4. Once implemented, how do you get parents to use new technologies? #ShowbieAndTell pic.twitter.com/E7AjIrMV4K
— Showbie (@Showbie) September 10, 2018
Co-host Answer
A4 – Educate the parents about your vision. From experience, if parents are unaware of 'what' and 'why', they are fearful. Then show them the impact. What has changed? Get children to articulate how the new technology is making an impact on their learning. #ShowbieAndTell https://t.co/RPca3kv2F9

A4 sharing with parents why and what for we do use technology. I had some students writing articles for the German Wikipedia Website and created a QR codes for their parents linked to their work. #ShowbieAndTell

A4 I’ve not used parent invites yet but I’d like to at my new school as we use other platforms for homework tracking and reporting praise points to parents so it makes sense to share @Showbie too! #ShowbieandTell

Q5. What one piece of advice can you give to admins and teachers who are looking to implement new technologies into their classrooms? #ShowbieAndTell pic.twitter.com/VsH37pLAGt
— Showbie (@Showbie) September 10, 2018
Co-host Answer
A5 – Plan, gain support and try to do things in small steps. Sometimes trying to implement in every class at once causes major issues. Choose a class and build from there. #ShowbieAndTell https://t.co/cFQl9V1w4d

A5: To admins, trust your staff; if they are asking for new technology, it's probably because they have a genuine passion for using it in the classroom in order to have a positive impact on learning. #ShowbieAndTell
— Miss Wheatley (@Miss__Wheatley) September 10, 2018
A5: To teachers- keep persisting, challenging yourself and pushing your boundaries in order to learn new things. We have a responsibility as educators to implement up-to-date tech in the classroom. #ShowbieAndTell
— Miss Wheatley (@Miss__Wheatley) September 10, 2018
A5 don’t worry about the Ss knowing more than you – they are digital natives and it is instinctive. Focus on why its better to use tech and the extra you can offer Ss by trying out new things #ShowbieandTell
— senoracampbell (@ncampbell250) September 10, 2018
A5- Start small, if attempting to implement across a school focus on a specific class and build knowledge of that teacher. This teacher can then impart their knowledge on the next teacher and so on… #ShowbieAndTell
